Treo 650 Smartphones

Melody and I each just got one of these phones tonight:

They are essentially a Palm Pilot, Cell Phone, MP3 Player, Portable Date Storage, Digital Camera and Video Recorder, Web-enabled, hand-sized computer device. They cost us $150 each, after rebate, after I negotiated the heck out of it at the Verizon store. We are now on Verizon instead of AT&T/Cingular, which makes us happy since most of Melody's family is on Verizon (all Verizon cell calls are free), and Verizon seems to have fewer dropped calls.

We will next be purchasing a third-party ad-on that allows them to use any wireless network in the area to access the net, instead of using Veriozons expensive data plan. Thank you Keith for showing us that trick!

Then we will get 1gb or 2gb SD cards, so we can use the phones as MP3 players and movie players and data storage devices, etc...

The first time is synced with my Desktop Outlook contact database I jumped for joy!

I've never used a Palm Pilot before, but I am figuring it out just fine so far. Pretty neat.
